Flat Iron Trailhead
December 11th 2021
Location: Phoenix AZ in the Superstition Mountain Range
Distance: 6 miles.
Hiking Partners: Colin and Uncle J
This trail, although short in mileage, is one of the most challenging hikes in the Superstition area but also one of the most fun. When reading about the trail its hard to believe that it takes 4 hours to complete 6 miles...but yep it sure does. The start of hike is just like any other but once you arrive in the canyon the fun begins.
Entering the canyon doesn't look too bad.
Yet its pretty much straight up.
Once at the top you can see for miles!
Time to go down.
This is exactly what your getting yourself into. Not a normal hiking trail. This is a full body workout. Arms, legs and core will get you there. My favorite kind of hike!
If your not into bouldering but still want to check out a different kind of hike this is for you. While my hiking partners are not big fans of bouldering they really enjoyed this one but said its a one and done type of hike....but I'll be back.
Until Next Time!
