Lady Bug Trail
Date: April 23rd 2021
Location: Safford AZ
Distance: 10 miles
Hiking Partners: Colin and Uncle J
This hike started off a little rough. The food we ate the previous night didn't agree with me so I had a few problems at the beginning of the trail. If you know somethings just chillin in your stomach making you fell bad you just have to release the demons and purge the sickness. After that and a little hiking recovery electrolytes I was back on the trail.
The trail itself reminded me of Mt. Baldy near Greer AZ. Well maintained and winding through pine forests with lots of gradual switch backs. We all felt a little off that day so we decided to end the hike before getting to Lady Bug Peak. We chose to end the hike at this cool overlook on the side of a cliff.

After lunch we headed back down.
Saw this huge tree on the way back!
We passed by a little creek on the way up so on the way back we took a rest and I got to explore the creek.
Even found a great picture spot!
We were almost back to the trailhead when I saw this almost perfect bobcat print right smack dab in the middle of the trail. Happy we didn't come face to face with a bobcat on the trail but pretty cool to know there out there somewhere.
Hard to tell in this picture but that print is the size a softball!
We had a great time! One day we'll be back to finish the trail.
On a side note. We met a nice older man on the trail named Clint Simpson. We enjoyed his stories and were happy to meet someone who had local knowledge of the area. Always keep an eye out! You never know what cool people you meet on the trail.
Until Next Time!
