Quartz Peak Trail

 Quartz Peak Trail

January 22nd 2022

Distance: 5.6 miles

Location: Maricopa AZ

Hiking Partners: Colin and Uncle J

This trail was a very unique hike. Starting from the trailhead you ascent to the top via the ridge line instead of switch backs. It was a nice change of pace from the other hikes we've done this year. Right between my fingers was our destination for the hike.

There was a bit of trail finding since we were following the ridgeline all the way up.

A few little critters on the way.

Made it to the top of Quartz Peak and there was a nice little geo cache waiting for us.

On the way down you can see the ridgeline we followed all the way back to the trailhead.

This was a great trail with lots of new things to discover. We also met a nice lady who hiked all sorts of trails around AZ with a 2 foot custom Teddy Bear that she made herself. She was in the process of making hiking videos for her blog to help show kids that hiking is fun. We thought that was a pretty good idea and wished her luck on her future hikes.

All in all, this was a great hike and we will be back!
Until Next Time!
